My old G4 power Mac work horse of many years appears to have lost its hard drive,. OK OK i did have a back up HD, though inevitably it did not have everything. I do have a new iMac but of course that will not read much of the material of the back up HD because OS 9 classic is needed. Also the G4 is required because I also have a great deal of info on Mag Optical discs and that external drive requires SCSI connectors. Not to be found on the iMac
Question: Can I use an external drive with the old G4 whist the internal HD space is empty? Is it possible to find new G4 hard drives to replace the dud one? Is there a way of reading data from drives with SCSI connectors on an iMac? Are there special adaptors in existence? There are used G4s around but they all seem to have been upgraded to OSX.
Any suggestion as to how I can get out of this mess will be most welcome.
