Cannot remove corrupted file..any suggestions?

I have the free 2013 AVG, and ran my first full scan, and, 1 infection, a broken file from DELL was found, yet, when I tried to remove it, the removal box would not "light up" and let me do that..I eventually wrote the file down, and, manually removed it, ran another full scan, and, that worked, it's toast......my question is, why I could not remove this via AVG? The file was:
C:\Users\.....\AppData\Roaming\PCDr.\Update\Binaries\full_dsc_5830_12_32_02.exe
I'm not a tekkie, so, forgive my lack of terminology here folks.

Hi hiyall1958,

I assume that the file was detected with a "Broken digital signature". While this indicates that the file could have been tampered with or the digital signature's certificate validity expired, it does not necessarily mean that it is malicious. More about "information" in test results can be found in this FAQ article.
In future, should you suspect a file is malicious but is not detected by AVG as a specific infection, we invite you to send the file to our virus specialists for analysis. More information on how to do that can be found in this AVG Forums article.

AVG does not remove files detected as "information" because there's actually no known malicious code detected in these files. However, don't worry that you may have removed manually something important. It was obviously a temporary update file which is usually of no use after the update takes place.

Hi--Thanks..this all makes good sense...thanks for the update, and helpful tips....I decided to upgrade to the full paid AVG, and the PC Tuneup program...I had used Iyogi for 1.5 years, and, while it worked very well, with a nice system, it was, in my opinion, overpriced at about 170 dollars per year...the AVG programs are more affordable, and, do a super job.
