** BSecure product support by AVG **
We received several queries regarding BSecure support in AVG Forums during the past weeks. Please be informed that this web form can be used to contact customer care experts. Unfortunately, no phone support is available at the moment.
Also, we received a couple of complaints on delayed answers to the technical queries. We are working hard to provide more support for BSecure users.
In the meantime, you could find many answers to BSecure Family Safety related questions here in AVG Forums; AVG Family Safety is a compatible product. We encourage you to use the forum search facility if you seek a specific answer.
** AVG Secure Search uninstallation **
We received reports that it is hard to remove AVG Secure Search (previously known as AVG Security Toolbar) and revert all changes from your computer and all internet browsers. We would like to introduce changes which simplifies procedure of returning your settings back to the original state (screenshot).
1. Open your Internet Explorer or Firefox and click the arrow next to the AVG logo.
2. Select the Uninstall AVG Security Toolbar option.
3. Choose which settings should be reverted.
4. Uninstall AVG Secure Search and revert changes by clicking the OK.
Please find more options how to remove AVG Secure Search and Toolbar in this article. Do not hesitate to contact AVG customer care experts or ask on AVG Forums if any assistance is required.
** Trojan horse infection **
AVG Forums visitors reported a couple of Trojan horse infections which appeared to be difficult to remove. Should you face any trouble removing an infection detected by AVG, please check this AVG Forums thread for a few tips on how to remove infections. An infection is sometimes coming back when stored in the System Volume Information folder. You can disable the operating system's restore functionality temporarily in order to remove the malware from this location as described here.
If the infection is still coming back, it could be accompanied by an undetected rootkit. We recommend scanning your computer using updated AVG Rescue CD in such case. AVG Rescue CD is able to remove known rootkits easily.
Please do not hesitate contacting AVG customer care experts should you require assistance with infection removal.
** AVG 2012 component inactive after recent update **
Some of AVG components (e.g. Anti-Virus, Identity Protection, ...) could be deactivated after a recent AVG 2012 update. At first, please try simply clicking the Fix button in upper-right corner of the AVG user interface (screenshot).
If clicking the Fix button won't help rectify the situation, we recommend installing the new AVG 2013 as described in this article. Make sure to use the AVG Remover tool to uninstall AVG 2012.
Should the issue persist even after complete AVG re-installation, please contact AVG customer care experts or describe the issue in AVG Forums to allow us investigate the situation.
