** AVG component inactive after recent update **

Some of AVG components (e.g. Anti-Virus, Identity Protection, ...) could be deactivated after a recent update. At first, please try simply clicking the Fix button in upper-right corner of the AVG user interface (screenshot).
If clicking the Fix button won't help rectify the situation, please proceed as indicated in one of the following AVG forum posts:
AVG Free Edition
AVG paid for versions
Please make sure to use AVG Remover in the process to remove all AVG data, before re-installing.
Should the issue persist even after complete AVG re-installation, please contact AVG customer care experts or describe the issue in AVG Forums to allow us investigate the situation.

** AVG requesting system restart repeatedly **

AVG Forums users reported AVG requesting restart repeatedly after completing the AVG update process. This issue is likely caused by certain update files could not been renamed for some reason.
Please proceed as follows to rectify the situation:
1. Navigate to the following folder (some files and folders are hidden by default operating system configuration):
C:\ProgramData\avg2012\cfg\
...or (if using Windows XP):
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\avg2012\cfg\
2. Verify that the updatecomps.cfg.prepare file is present in this folder.
3. Delete the updatecomps.cfg file.
4. Rename the updatecomps.cfg.prepare to updatecomps.cfg.
If the issue is not rectified or if the updatecomps.cfg.prepare file is not present, please perform complete AVG reinstallation as mentioned in the previous paragraph (AVG component inactive after recent update).
Please contact AVG customer care experts should you need further assistance.

** BSecure product support by AVG **

We received several queries regarding BSecure support in AVG Forums during the past week. Please be informed that this web form can be used to contact customer care experts. Unfortunately, no phone support is available at the moment.
Also, we received a couple of complaints on delayed answers to the technical queries. We are working hard to provide more support for BSecure users at the time of writing this article.
In the meantime, you could find many answers to BSecure Family Safety related questions here in AVG Forums; AVG Family Safety is a compatible product. We encourage you to use the forum search facility if you seek a specific answer.

** Java 7 download trouble **

A few AVG Forums users mentioned non-functional download in some Java applications with AVG LinkScanner active, if Java 7.x is installed. Developers investigated the issue and found a possible fix. Although the fix is not verified yet, you could test it when joining the AVG Beta program and installing the AVG 2013 beta version. Feel free to join the beta program if interested in this particular bug fix or in the AVG 2013 in general.
Should you face similar trouble but you do not wish to participate in beta testing, you could uninstall the Java 7 temporarily and installing its predecessor Java 6 as a possible work-around. Alternatively, you could try disabling the AVG LinkScanner temporarily to see whether the particular issue is affected by the LinkScanner.
Should you need any assistance, please do not hesitate contacting AVG customer care experts.

** Windows report an AVG driver not to be digitally signed **

We received a few reports of AVG Filter Driver not being recognized as digitally signed (example screenshot).
As the first step, we recommend reinstalling AVG completely (see AVG component inactive after recent update above) to make sure the particular driver was not tampered with and the most recent drivers are being used.
Should the issue persist, you may disable the driver signature verification as a work-around. More information can be found in this AVG Forums post (Windows 7/Vista only).
However, if you suspect the computer to be infected, we recommend contacting AVG customer care experts.
