can't uninstall AVG 9 free..any help??

today i found my avg 9 was not working and so i tried to upgrade to avg 2011 version because when i start my computer it was on my update list, so i tried but it failed.

SO i went to internet and some site wrote i need to uninstall avg 9 first. so i went to control panel to add or remove.I tried to remove AVG 9 free but it showed me this message:

Installer initialization failed due to following error:
Error: Initialization of the language file "C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG9" failed.
Initialization of languages failed or files count is zero.

I am not computer genie..i just know i use windows XP..i don't know much about software. it was my brother who handles but he's not in Hong kong now.. he also cannot help me,,So i tried to look for help and found one...like i can use perfect uninstaller but after installing i found i need to register $$$$ OMG.. i don't know what to do now.. can anyone help!!

please follow these complete re-installation steps together with complete removal of this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MFAdata

What is the current situation?

Solution for everybody

This problem is actually more common than you might think. AV's do not like being uninstalled, sometimes even the vendors uninstall utility will fail to complete wipe the system clean of your old AV, potentially causing problems for you when you install the next AV program. Try a third party uninstaller like AppRemover (free at ww.appremover.com) it will scan all the security programs on your computer allowing you to wipe off what you want and install the new version of AVG
