Server busy pop up

AVG Anti-virus plus firewall 9.0:
I have a yellow check mark against AVG in the quick launch bar, when I click on it it sets off a pop up which says:

"This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy choose `switch to` to activate the busy program and correct the problem."

When I click on `switch to` it opens up the start menu, I click on AVG User Interface and get another popup saying the same thing.

I am rarely able to access the user interface and when I do I cannot run a scan or update the firewall.

What do I do? I have a Hijackthis log which I post below.

Mixing protection software is often

Mixing protection software like TeaTimer and "other" stuff is now turning out to cause very strange and new errors.

I'd pick ONE antivirus and ONE firewall and go with that. While TeaTimer used to be ok in the brew, today everything is different and you may have to forgo TeaTimer.

AVG firewall can't close "Server Busy - switch to/retry"

Just for those who may run into this issue...

Problem happened (winlogon.exe missing comdlg32.dll) after power loss during XP boot. Corrupted NTFS fixed with "chkdisk /R" in repair shell, however core DLLs were missing. Manually extracted comdlg32.dll using "expand comdlg32.dl_" from XP CD, which enabled boot.

Once back at the desktop, avg wouldn't open avgui.exe, giving a "Server Busy" popup which could not be closed (without end tasking the process).

Not being able to start windows firewall gave me the clue - there were still a bunch of lost DLLs from windows, which were preventing windows services from starting.
A quick google found me the SOLUTOIN: start->run->"cmd"->"sfc /scannow" (and chuck the XP disk in)

This replaced the missing DLLs and I could open avg again, even before the repair had finished.
