Do cooling pad fans run constantly?

I just bought a new Belkin F5L001 cooling pad, and we noticed the fan isn't moving. Is the fan always supposed to be running?

If it should be always on or on demand. Some folk can't stand one or the other.

My answer is "it depends." Be sure to check that the power to the Belkin is applied.

I appreciate the reply. I ended up going to Walmart and they tested a new one on their display models and it does seem to run constantly (which is fine - I just wanted to know). So we exchanged it for a new one. Thanks again for the reply! Have a good day!

Cooling fan not running.

I have an old dual fan Vantec I got free with a free laptop. This one has a dial on that back next to 5 usb ports. When I first plugged it in it was on very slow. I couldn't tell if it was running. When i found the dial I cranked it up to high. Now I vary the speed with how warm or cold it is with room temp. Google Vantec and click Products then Notebook Accessories. I am thinking of getting a new one as High speed is really loud now.
