Suggestions for buying a wireless router?

Hi,

I'm planning on buying a laptop in the near future, and so will also be needing a wireless router. This is all new to me and I was hoping for advice on what kind to look for. Some background in case it helps: My laptop will be primarily for home use, surfing the internet, watching videos or movies online, listening to/downloading music, etc. I'll most likely be getting a Dell Inspiron.

I have this 25 buck unit. It's good too.

Some may not be able to use that since they get dependent on a setup CD. I've never used that CD!

Hi,

Determine wireless standard used by the connecting devices.

Determine the number of ports required.

Check the security features on offer.

Check for range of the router.
