Bluetooth Mouse & Dongle Questions

by 1shado1 - 5/8/09 6:09 PM

Please forgive the ignorance of my questions. Also a warning that brevity is not my long suit. Please bear with me.

I currently own a Logitech V220 wireless mouse (NOT Bluetooth). I am using one mouse and one dongle (I swap the dongle) for both my notebook, and netbook (but not simultaneously, lol). I couldn't be happier with the way it performs. My only issue is with the big honkin' dongle sticking out of the side of my laptops a good inch and a half. I'm always afraid I'll break the thing off. Here's what I'd like to do:

Purchase ONE Logitech V470 Bluetooth mouse, and buy a PAIR of the generic Bluetooth micro usb dongles (Bluetooth 2.0?) that I've seen online. So I'd like to use ONE V470 with BOTH my notebook AND my netbook (not simultaneously), and just leave a micro usb dongle plugged into each all the time.

Knowing nothing about Bluetooth, I'm wondering if this is doable. I have some vague knowledge about the mouse needing to "pair" with the dongle. Is this an involved process, or pretty much automatic? And would the mouse need to "pair" with each dongle as I turn off my notebook, and fire up my netbook, each and every time?

Thanks in advance for any light you fine folks can shed on this subject for me!
