Serious driver issue on this netbook, any ideas welcome.

My netbook is unbearably slow. It takes 5 minutes to open the control panel for example.A message popped up saying it was the igdkmd.sys that was causing this performance issue.
<div>Also at startup I get a blue screen for a few seconds.
Is this the dreaded blue screen of death and is there a fix for it.
I spent an hour uninstalling and reinstalling the latest intel graphics 3000 driver hoping that, that could be a solution.
I have no clue as to why the netbook works perfectly except the performance,
System restore doesn't work either, It gives an error message before it finsishes.
Any ideas/solutions welcome except for reinstalling windows
because there is no dvd drive for reinstalling by the windows dvd method.
The netbook is an asus X10CH with intel 3000 grpahics.
