Hello,
I have been battling with Asus for over a year now concerning a Netbook I purchased based on recommendations here at CNET. My first issues is that the 1018PB-BK801 and my serial number are no where to be found at ASUS. I called support and I am repeatedly placed on hold because they cannot find any information on this model. My issues were that the procedures for backing up my device did not work. I was attempting to set the machine back to the factory default, but it gave me an error stating that I needed a new backup disk. Asus could not find my system and told me I was out of luck. Again I called with another issue regarding the screen resolution after performing a recommended BIO Update. The gentleman said that the 1018P is the same and I should update the BIOS to improve the battery life and I should not worry. I did the BIOS update and now the screen at the POST (where you see EeePC) is at 1024x768. This is also the case when windows loads and it will not allow me to change the resolution to 1024x600. As you can tell I am not a happy camper and even moreso, my computer is out of warranty by 2 months now and they still as saying they do not recognize the machine. What should I do?
