Netbook battery

I have a toshiba netbook and have only had it for a week. I wanted to know if its docked all the time and I'm not traveling can I conserve the battery by taking it out of the computer? Will this keep the battery life better or not? Thank you for any help you can provide.

You can expect about 10% more life span by doing that. Seems a shame given what the battery gives you for leaving it in.
