asus eee pc 900 brightness Stuck

My eel pc brightness is stuck on lowest level as keyboard shortcut keys for adjusting no longer work. Asus tech support explained there is no way too adjust this through Its Linux os. They said I need replace keyboard. This is hard to believe!!? Anyone have any advice?

What this sounds like is the OS is not the same as you got it. I find folk try to speed up machines and in the process remove what app allows that feature. Ask again but I fear you'll have to restore the OS to the factory load.

Use eeectl Utility to adjust backlight

eeectl utility was designed for Asus 700 series, but also works on 900 & 901 models. To download for Windows or Linux, go to this website, http://brandoneffect.blogspot.com.au/2012/03/software-for-overclocking-asus-eeepc.html

No installation is required, just unpack binary and run eeectl.exe and it will default to toolbar. Right click icon on toolbar and select backlight. There are 5 choices, lowest, low, medium, bright & ultra bright.
