My netbook (a Dell Mini 10) doesn't have VGA-out, but it has HDMI. If your TV supports HDMI, that's even better.
If the person or the shop where you want to buy the machine isn't even able to tell you the basic specs like this, find another place to buy it.

If shops will not answer these questions about the machines you keep walking. If they can't answer this one, imagine when you have a real need for an answer.
As to the TV connection there is not much in your post about the TV. I will note that HDMI is my preferred connection HOWEVER VERY FEW NETBOOKS will play HD CONTENT without issue. You may want to tell the forum and the shops what the goals are.

Thank you for your response. I want to use a netbook alongside my TV
to keep the size down and play streaming TV especially the BBC iPlayer.
The lower priced netbooks do not come with a TV out S connector. My TV
does not have a VGA input. I want to use a VGA from the netbook to S
connector on the TV but researching the net and Amazon people have had problems because the manufacturers do not always include TVout on the VGA connector. Like me, here in the UK manufactures are not very helpful. I have established that Acer does not have TV out.
TV out is dying fast.

Let's say that if you didn't find one, there won't be a new laptop with this.
Now that we know it's for video play I can't suggest any low end netbook. You'll want either the ION based netbook or any beginning entry level laptop.
For TV play, you just wiped out almost all netbooks from the list.

I use the above netbook model with a wireless key board and VGA out into my TV.,
Decent exampples can be found on ebay and I view iplayer, youtube etc with no problems.

I bet 480p would work!
