Another Gaming Laptop Question: Asus or bust?

I am looking into buying a gaming laptop. My current laptop is over 6 years old and is a fail at allowing me to play any games I really want to play on it.

I have been reading up on the Asus gaming laptops and need to get advice on if the following is a good gaming laptop for me:

Games I would like to be able to play:

Guild Wars 2
Diablo 3

The above mentioned are just twp I've really wanted to play but can't on the current old laptop.

My price range is $700. It doesnt have to be an Asus gaming laptop the above was just what I have been doing research on. Other than what I have listed I am pretty much a complete 'noob' when it comes to gaming systems.

No, I would not get this to play video games.

You made a great choice for the CPU, the HDD is fine and the amount of RAM is fine too, but try to get a GPU with 1GB dedicated RAM.

Or, forget laptops and get a desktop that you can upgrade and pay less.

Now if you go down the page you find it's not a great rating but at what I paid for it, it's pretty good for the casual gamer. It's 399 and I paid 70 bucks less.

WHY did I pick this up? Actually I didn't. We needed a laptop for a project and since it's a demo machine we only needed to hit a few performance points (the GPU being high on the list) so we went with this cheap laptop.

It's actually been better than expected as it boots up from its zero power sleep in not many seconds (5?)
