It Don't Work?

Back in middle of 2009 I bought an Asus G51VX laptop computer. While everything seems to be working I recently came upon a problem. So I am looking for a little help in getting the problem fixed.

It seems that the part where I should be able to read SD cards does not want to work. It does not matter what SD card i put into the tray that area does not work.

Yes I downloaded the updates from Asus own website but the tool will not work. Any help sure would be grand. Otherwise it may be no big deal.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Could be hardware, could be software.

Buying a external card reader, that connects via USB should solve it, whatever the cause.

Windows 7 or XP? and have you upgraded the OS? Sometimes devices like that don't work when you upgrade OS's. This is mainly because the laptop makers don't typically support OS upgrades if the OS comes out after the laptop. You might be able to find the driver from the maker of the device itself.
