512 RAM or more? No games, what power do I need?

512 is common for a lot of tablets, especially single core.
But then you've got the Nexus 7 and the quadcore business going on(I think in the info it actually has a fifth, minor core...??).
I'm shopping for tablets, and I don't need games. I will want to surf the web, asking dumb questions like this, look at message boards, Youtube videos, etc.
So can I get by with a 512 MB RAM tablet with a 1.2 Gh processor? One I'm looking at has Android 3.2. It's much cheaper than the Nexus 7, which is tantalizing with all the processing power, but since I don't plan on gaming, I don't know if I'll really need it. The busiest thing I do, is I have a tendency to multi-task with browsers. I want to know if this will really do: http://www.amazon.com/Archos-70b-Internet-7-Inch-Tablet/dp/tech-data/B0070Q5SOA/ref=de_a_smtd
I'm not sure if I can upgrade the Android version on it.
