I might be getting a new tablet soon, currently I have a Samsung galaxy tab wifi 7 inch (the p1010) and Im mostly happy with it. To be honest, Im mostly happy with it, but have since discovered Samsung, intential or not, allowed their packaging and advertisements to let their customers beleive it was just like the cell carrier version but without the carrier and antanae.
Let me put it to you this way, they could not be (blank)ed to give it HID for bluetooth keyboards, a simple software issue.
I would like a machine with as much functionality as I can get. Specificly:
*Dual Core processor 1ghz or higher
*USB OTG, Preferably full sized USB port
*Full bluetooth and HID support
*HDMI out
*USB cable port for PC connection
*16 gb built in memory
*SD card support, full sized prefered over micro SD
I would also like, though not neccesary:
*an Infra red transceiver for remote control applications
*Front/rear video recording, mostly for close up pictures
*Gamepad support via bluetooth or USB port
*Physical keyboard/mouse support over built in USB.
**(good luck to me) Video Input would be spectacular if it existed.
**Also is there an application to stream your tablets screen to the TV via xbox or something?
**Just about any sort of hardware functionality Im not aware of or havent listed, the more the better.
Im not picky about the screen size, wieght, or dimensions of the tablet, and my budget is 500 bucks but I might be willing to stretch that. Any input is appreciated.

I looked in the stores, but it was mostly devices that were just a feature or two short and a hundred dollars or so overpriced. I havent seen much on the windows tablets, I didnt even know they were available already. Cant say I want to go to a newer generation windows tablet, at least not until Ive seen one up close. I was looking at the list of currently avalable and soon to be android tablets and couldnt make up my mind. Among the ones I liked, was the Asus transformer and the slider, both with keyboards either build in or available, but after seeing the Toshiba thrive which has full sized USB, full size HDMI, as well as full sized SD, on top of a mini B for PC connection and the proprietary port, I was astounded, and right now thats the tablet Im most interested in. The reason I say Im looking for a swiss army tablet is because I ound my samsung to be a swiss army knife kind ocf computer, not specialized in any one thing but still very usefull for about a hundred different things I never knew it could do.
As an experiment try this.

Use your tablet for a month without the PC you have now. Most folk figure it out.
