Tablets forum: Is a tablet the answer? What will it do?

The Android is too fiddly for most users. And the iPad might not play some Flash content so it's a toss up. For the USER I nod to the iPad and then we have that memory issue. Even on an Android tablet I can only slip in an extra 32GB memory card so you might be caught unaware that these pads rarely replace a laptop.

I think that yes, you will definitely be wanting a tablet to consolidate everyday tasks overseas.

I'll tell you this. At work, we recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad A1. The tablet is operating with Android OS, and serves a lot of great use for multi-tasking and performing quick tasks.

Reading is amazing on the tablet at 7", which is the perfect length for a tablet in my opinion to hold in one hand. It is light and very portable and can easily be stored in a luggage or backpack with padding. The amazon kindle reader app simply has enhanced reading optimization as a whole.

You can watch movies (although not always the best quality) and listen to radio with a 3g or wi-fi connection. Depending on your service, this function can work a lot of the times and other times not.

Reading email is a breeze and certainly I can manage them a lot easier with the tablet.

I will tell you that, more than likely, the more apps you install, the more they are bound to slow up your device.

Are tablets making us better? I think in some ways yes, and in a lot of ways no. But which one is right for you will have to be another question and will take a lot of research. All I can tell you is that Lenovo's product is whatever and their customer service sucks.

You can either copy your music to a SD card (as long as the tablet has a SD slot) or directly to the tablet and because your music is in the MP3 format. You can also downloand the Kindle app and all the books you've ordered will pop into your library once you set up your Amazon account on the tablet. The cons are because they have a color display the battery life wont be as long as your typical MP3 player but you will get over 5 hours on the typical tablet. I was surprised when i got my tablet (Galaxy Tab 10.1) on how when I set up my google account all the apps i had on my phone popped onto the tablet. The same with facebook and the other accounts i have.
