Manage updates with the Download App
Hey all,
I'm looking to get a decent tablet to take to classes as i already have a desktop PC. I've looked around quite a bit and weighed a few options, but i'm having trouble deciding.
I looked at the 7inch Kindle Fire, but after a bit of digging I discovered that the app store is restricted to US customers... I live in Canada, so that's not an option.
I also looked at a few of the other "budget" tablets, such as the Nook, the KoBo, and the IdeaPad.. but they all seem a little weak.
I've been told the HP TouchPad is a good way to go, but i need second and third opinions as i'm not really up to date on the tablet market.
I'd like to limit the price to $200, but I'm willing to go $300. I'm looking a well rounded Wi-Fi tablet, but I don't want to spend the $400-$600 for an IPad...
Any Help?

Folk have tried to avoid getting a laptop and found the pads are not quite there for content or creation of documents. Be sure to figure out what the use is FIRST.

I plan on using it for keeping track of assignments/dates, To-Do list, taking notes, help me keep track of my cash use, web surfing, emails, and such.
As i said, i already have a desktop- I don't see the need to buy a laptop when i can take notes on a tablet and transfer them over when i'm off class.
I don't expect to write essays on a tablet.
It just seems like a tablet is cheaper than a laptop, and a lot lighter. (unless i go for a cheap netbook, and I've never really cared for those.)
And are there apps for these activities?

I've found the calendar app to be less than useful. As to note taking, is this a note? That is, about 2 sentences?
