Tablets forum: to buy or not to buy ?

If I turn off everything but the mobile, I can get close to 2 weeks on a charge. One day I was using GPS and bluetooth but forgot to turn those off at the end of the day. Next morning it wanted a charge.

Would you consider that bad or good battery time?

And for this discussion let's use life as to when we replace the battery, and time for the time we get on a charge.

I charge it every night whether I need to or not so I have a full battery in the AM. I get about 6 or 7 hours but I don't play games at all. I love the tablet. You need add ons for USB and HDMI connectors or an SD slot. Basically out of the box it just has a connection for recharging or connection to a PC.

I was really wanting this phone, but it wasn't originally available on Verizon, so I didn't (I bought the Samsung Galaxy Nexus at the time.....the Note wasn't available yet) I might in the future, though. It is a great phone and it's a nice, big size. I think that is one of the major points of this phone, the size. I think it might be the largest (or one of the largest) smart phones available right now. People are actually calling it a "phablet".

Samsung has great phones, very quick indeed, great quality.....but you need to think about what you want to use it for. I personally use the internet a lot on my phone, so I wanted as large a screen as possible. The bigger the screen, the better the internet experience and it's easier to read things on a larger phone. I'm female and I always carry around a handbag, so the large size is not an issue for me since I carry it around in my hand bag. If you're a guy, then it might be a little bit of a hindrance having a large screen as far as how to carry it around. Not sure if it would fit in pockets. The Note also has a stylus and apps geared for using a stylus. I personally would have liked this feature as well. As far as battery life, I can't say too much about that as I'm not too familiar. I do know that many smart phones dont' have great battery life. My Nexus, for example, will last 1/2 to one day, depending on what I do on it. If I don't do much and keep it in sleep mode it still has battery left the next morning. If I use it a lot during the day for different things, the battery can drain very quickly. Different activities/apps use more or less battery life. However I also have an extra extended battery on hand to swap out if need be. While at work, I keep it plugged into it's charger.

If you like to have as large a screen as possible, then I would recommend the Note. It really makes a difference when web surfing. If size is not an issue, you might want to research some other phones that might have a little longer battery life.
