Memory on a tablet?

I'm new to this whole tablet business silly and the toughest part is finding one that suits my needs best. I have an iTunes library of 5,000 songs (and growing) and I'm trying to figure out a couple of things about tablets that I don't really know yet. confused Would a 16 or 32 GB tablet be okay for me as long as it has a micro SD card slot? If a tablet has a micro SD card slot does that mean it is possible to give it an SD expansion? What is an SD expansion? Would I have to transfer music from my micro SD cards onto the tablet to play them? I'm so lost cry I just need some guidance!

That's old technology and for cost and space reasons all are using microSD cards. Besides I just spotted the 32GB microSD for yet another new low price.

There's also a reason to not have your entire collection on the machine. I think we'll put most in a cloud or home server and carry around a month or more of content with ease.

In fact the next new player app will show the entire collection where you check off what you want and it moves that onto the machine as need be when it catches a connection.

I've heard of the cloud thing and streaming your library. I was considering the Kindle Fire for its price and whatnot but I was put off that there wasn't much storage space on the tablet and there isn't a slot for SD cards either. The only reason why I'm not all that hyped up about streaming is because I spend a lot of time in a small rural area that has never had any wi-fi and the future isn't looking to bright in that department either. But I'll look deeper into it and see if it clicks. Thank you! laugh

to reinforce what Bob says.

Don't forget to backup. Having all your personal files, songs and others, in just one place is dodgy. If that fails then you lose everything.

So, backup, backup again, and yet again for good measure.
