Galaxy Tab 10.1 and its fate

I bought a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT - P7500) three months ago, and the news regarding the device almost being banned across Europe troubles me.
Personally I am afraid of my device losing support from future software updates - I have heard Samsung doesn't support it anymore. It also comes to my mind that quite some Android phones even hi-spec ones lose their software support early in life.
Are these rumors I have heard correct? If so, will I lose my chance to update to newer software updates, for example ICS?

Eventually the folk in Europe accepted that folk had and use the product.

As to product support I'd like to see someone open a discussion on that. Today I see too many devices with bugs you can't get fixed. Even if the product is NEW!

Go figure.
