Tablet for business uses

Hello,
I am starting a company that consults small businesses in my area on how to use social media to help market their company.
When the iPad came out I dismissed it almost immediately, thinking that it wouldn't serve me well, as I already have an iPhone, laptop, and desktop computer. However I started thinking about it's uses for showing social media platfroms (i.e. tweetdeck, facebook.) So I decided I should get a tablet to present it all to the customer in real time.
My question is:
Should I get the iPad? Or is there another tablet that is going to be better for showing stuff like this? I would really like something that can do 3g, as there aren't tons of WiFi hotspots floating around my area.
Keep in mind that I'm not buying one to watch movies on, just to promote what I can do for a company through the internet. I am also a photographer, and want to be able to display all of my photo's to the customer. The iPad is good for that, but I figure the HP Slate will be as well.
Please let me know what you think. I am a poor college student so whenever I'm about to drop $500 or more on something, I want to be sure that it is the right thing for me.
Adam
P.S. I would wait for the second gen iPad to come out first, but I am looking at making a purchase within a month, as that's when my business will be launched.
