Which e-book format would be best for technical works?

Which platform of e-books (PDF, EPUB, Kindle, etc.) would be best for technical e-books, like instruction manuals and textbooks? Especially if I want to include audio and video?

And the new Kindle format isn't out yet.

Today, what do you see supports the audio and video? You may have to go with what supports this and forget e-books until they evolve.
