E reader dilema

I currently have the Velocity Cruz which both my husband and daughter also have and love. My problem is that I love to read outside and it doesn't have the e-ink pearl for outside reading. So I want to get another one for outside, with wifi & 3G if I'm at the beach. I thought about the kindle, but it won't accept any books I'm currently reading. So now I'm condsidering the Sony Reader Daily Edition PRS-950SC because the others aren't wireless and because it will accept my books (think it does)and has great reviews for outside use, though,I read that you have to use the browser with wifi not 3G which I don't understand. I also read that the Nook has same capabilities as the Sony but no e-ink pearl. I don't want to be tied to a single bookstore, I want to be able to share books with my husband, download anywhere, but most importantly READ OUTSIDE. Can anyone give me some advice?

I'm sure there are more articles like that out there. And I'm sure you can get other readers that are better outdoor so why not 2 readers? One you like and one for outdoor?

That was my intention, but just wanted some advice on the Sony Reader Daily Edition PRS-950SC. That one seemed to pretty much have all the features I was looking for. It's a bit expensive so I just wanted to make sure I was making a good choice. Not big on the kindle, but maybe will look at the Nook with wifi and 3G. If anyone has some good advice please let me know. Thanks.

My reply was to talk about other ways to get content onto the Kindles. Here I think I see the Kindle in stores for fairly low prices but you are right, it may not be acceptable to jump through hoops for a questionable result.
