PDF conversion for Kindle 2

I bought a scientific text, 2 columns, interspersed equations, occasional full page tables and diagrams, etc. I have not been able to read it successfully on the Kindle 2 - either type is too small, or treats pages as single column and when large enough have to move each page around a few times to read each page. Conversion programs have not done well with the equations OR the tables and graphs.
Has anyone else had this problem, and can you recommend a solution??

Don't read it on the Kindle, but on a device with a bigger screen (if that's possible with the DRM it has). Or (oops, how oldfashioned) buy the paper edition.

Yeah, I think you are right. So far the best approach is to use a really large monitor and stick with Adobe Reader.

Problem is I may be traveling in my job, with only a Netbook along with me, and I was trying to find a good 'portable' solution. Medical and scientific books are way too heavy these days to fly them all over the country - and I am an avid reader with 3 or more books going simultaneously. guess I'll stick to novels till I get back home.
