SONY VAIO E series - 2 motherboards failed; laptop 6 mo. old

The first motherboard failed after 4 months and was replaced by a technician under contract with SONY who said this was a rare occurrence. Two months later the replacement motherboard failed and it, too, was replaced. Computer is still under warranty. SONY's solution is for me to purchase the extended warranty to protect against future failures after the 1 year warranty expires.

I've seen such but usually I catch the owner with the laptop playing video games or placing it on a soft surface. Take the longer warranty!

Hi Bob, by soft surfaces do you mean laps? If so, I have spent the last 6 years trying to tell my family this.
And don't get me started on the canned air, Ido mine regularly but refuse to do thiers they've been told the drill.
