Should I add RAM to a brand new Samsung series 5?

I am about to buy a Samsung Series 5 laptop with 4GB or Ram and capacity to 8GB - it comes with i5 third gen processor

I am a business user - not a gamer or video editor - so should I spend the $50 to add the extra 4GB? would I notice a performance improvement or should I save my $$?

The pay at the office is high enough that if we save even 5 minutes a day, payback happens in a month.

If this is your money, you may have a harder sell.

If you are ordering the unit with Ram upgrade pre installed, 50.00 is a good deal. If you are doing it yourself on a new system I'd be a little cautious, I'd read up on whether or not that might affect the manufacturer's warranty. Would you notice a huge difference? I doubt it but everybody likes more and more Ram can smooth out and speed up opening applications. So if it were I and it were to be pre installed and it was only a 50.00 add on, I'd probably do it.

ram for samsung

The RAM would be a kit sold by Samsung but installed by me - if it doesnt void warranty would you do it?

I have done these changes on my own on machines for years so i am not worried about damage...on the other hand I can always run it for a year til out of warranty or I feel the "need for speed..."
