Should I replace my own motherboard?

I need a new mobo, so I bought one, and I'm wondering how easy it is to swap them out. I am familiar with the inside of my laptop and have replaced a couple things before, but I know the mobo isn't just, unplug everything, swap, plug everything back in. Like, how hard is it to detach and reattach the processor? And is there any soldering involved with anything? Basically, in a sentence, Is replacing a mobo too complex for a self-taught laptop repairman? Should I take it somewhere?

I find many folk are thinking you can use other boards in these laptops. The swap is 99% of the time with the same board.

Why are you changing it? Did it smoke or stop working?

you do it and break something your out your investment. If someone else breaks it that may be financially liable.
