Having bad sectors is a cause for some worry.

If I were you I would start to make sure I can reinstall all my stuff on a new hard disk and pay some extra attention to my backup.

My laptop is less then a year old and it's already failing? Is there a way to contact the maker (Toshiba) and request a replacement? Because I have had to reformat the computer several times because it would take forever to load due to bad sectors I guess.

Your warranty documents should tell you how long a period it lasts (one year is common) and how to call this in. If you can't find it, go back to the shop.

i did a disk check and mine came out the i had 369 large files. what does this really mean

It's a shame they emitted an informational message. Maybe in the future it should omit all details and simply emit "Passed."
