So yer, here's the full story...
I got a knackerd computer of a mate for nothing. It didn't boot or even turn on.
I got it booted, it was as simple as changing the fuse in the plug. That's as far as I got. When I boot the computer with the old HDD it gets me as far as asking for the password. If i type it in or not the laptop will reboot after about 20 seconds (Win Vista).
I assumed from that the HDD was knakerd as there was no reason for any files to be damaged and when I shook it there was a rattleing noise.
So I got annother HDD same size and cappacity etc. The BIOS will ankowledge the it and try to boot but it then only gives me options to try and repair windows or start normally. If I start normally it powers down virtually strait away, Same applies for safe mode. The new HDD has win7 on.
Any ideas would be great, thanks in advance for any help :P
