Laptop won't turn on after power off over night.. too cold

I have a HP DV5 1021tx that I owned over 5 years. It's reliable and I love it. However, it's starting to shown it age and some problems I just can't fix.
A year ago, it was starting to overheat really easily and during last winter, it will not turn on after powering off overnight. To solve the over heating problem, I recently completely disassembled my laptop and blown out all the dust (there were a lot) and the replace the cooling fan. No more overheating problems after that but the laptop still won't turn on. I read online that the hardware itself could be too cold so I used a hairdryer and blown some hot air into it for a minute or two. It did turn on, but I had to do this preheating process every time when I were able to switch it on.
Is this problem foreshadowing bigger hardware issue. Does anyone have any fix?
