That even an apple pad can fail. There is a fine discussion about hardware out there but why must you fix this? It's well inside the warranty.

-> First idea!!! On my laptop I press Fn+f10 to disable the pad. No driver update would ever fix that!!! I don't know which key combo it is on your Tosh but look for that.

-> Second idea. Get a mouse to mouse by for a while.

Bob, I am usually the tech guy and now I feel like never touching a computer again, I thought I looked for the F key on my new computer but must have not, F5 on the toshiba satellite does the trick - it was disabled. Probably dis activated trying to shut down some night after watching a video.

Thank you for the report. Here's my moment of shame story.

My pager conked out so I stood in line at the service counter. The nice service person took my pager then opened it up, flipped over the battery, handed it back then called out "Next!"
