Toshiba Satelite A665 Battery and Charging question

Hey all im in a bind here, this just recently happened: Whenever I unplug my battery charger from my laptop my laptop then just shuts off. In the lower right hand corner it says 0% avaiable, plugged in, not charging. Not sure how to go about this any help is much appreciated thanks!

Clarification request: How old is this?

The common laptop battery is a 300 cycle unit with about an 18 month life span for owners that use the battery daily.

Everyone except those that sell batteries have you get the maker's battery for many reasons. Do you recall the battery fire stories?

First try a new battery. If that doesn't help try another motherboard.
