Hello, my laptop is an Acer Aspire 5755G with a duo core i5 processor and 4g of ram. I also have a plusnet wireless router that i wish to connect it to.

a few days ago my laptop failed to connect to the internet and has done since, when i click the little signal strength bar in the bottom right of the screen that now has a exclamation mark in a yellow triangle on it it says that PlusnetWireless is connected but, i cannot access the internet, im told it may be to do with my antivirus but im not sure...
i'm extreamly grateful for any suggestions as to why this problem has occurred and how i can fix it!

The usual I run into is when Norton or another antivirus expires. They firewall off the internet to be safe.

Since it's a laptop you always try it at another hotspot.

One of the more interesting causes (to me at least) is when the WiFi spot is unprotected. Let me be clear that WEP or less is no protection. There are also other reasons such as hiding the SSID.

But to troubleshoot this connection I'd have to hear more.

it seems my MaCafee antivirus has actually ran out thanks for that il watch some tutorial on how to fix it. cheers.

I can't explain why they do that without some overbearing full screen popup to tell you they are blocking the internet until you pay up. Whoops, that could be taken as a threat!
