I have a Gateway MA2 laptop. Replaced damaged motherboard with a used motherboard. Replacement had a broken keyboard connection. I fixed this and was able to connect the keyboard and get it to work. When I put it all back together the screen was black. I've taken it apart numerous times and can get it working with the keyboard cable connected, but when I put it all together with the keyboard screw installed the screen is black. I've tried putting it back together when it is still running and the keyboard is working and the screen does not go black, but the keyboard then no longer works. Any help would be appreciated since I've haven't been able to find anyone who has had a similar problem.

Try the generic reset noted at the welcome post at the top of this forum and hope.
