I could use some help - I repair computers for the senior community - at no charge. Have come up against a HP DV7 - multimedia laptop that runs for a while (an hour or two) and then dies. I replaced the battery, run the unit with a fan under it, run it w/o the battery in place. It still runs for an hour or so then dies. Once it dies, I can take the battery out - put it back in once or twice and it will run again for a while. I have cleaned the battery terminals (but remember it does the same thing with the battery removed). I thought it might be overheating - the unit has alot of bells and whistles (blu-ray et al) but the fan did little - I did dismantle the unit and clean the fan area with canned air etc. Any ideas?
