Dell Password Issue ???

Hi

I have a DELL Laptop that needs a password (Not known) to enter the system, how does one get around this? Would i need to change the hard drive then make a fresh OS install? or is the another way around this?

Dell offers a password reset.

It's pretty simple. Call in, give the service tag and identify yourself as it's owner. They help you reset it. Some complain about this because they won't reset for the non-owner. At least it helps curb theft.

-> Also, I missed the model. Maybe there is another way but I missed the model number.

Never done this before.. what exactly is the service tag and what information do i need to give them?

Those are questions you could google or just ask Dell. All this is volunteer so please try the simpler stuff on google.
