Laptop troubleshooting forum: No Sound

No Sound

Working on a laptop for my son which was given to him. Recovered the laptop to factory conditions installed all of the drivers including audio but can get no sound. When you try to run Itunes it comes up with a Windows error message saying that the audio is not configured. Everything looks OK on the system with no yellow errors so why I am I getting no sound.
Any help really appreciated.

Sadly I can't find the make and model. But good news.

The lack of sound is very common when we get the install order incorrect. Many are just learning this but here's a discussion that noted it.
