laptop won't turn on

i was using the laptop like i always do but the ac adapter plug fell out so without looking i tried to plug it back in but i mistakenly plugged in to the wrong hole in the back of the laptop. it immediatley turned off and won't turn back on. please help

At the top of this forum is a sticky post. Try the generic reset first.

If that fails, replace parts from the cheapest to the point you feel it is not worth replacing.

The post titled Reset a laptop. (Generic version) is what I would try first. If that can't be done then it's time for a service counter.

Did you remove the battery and then replace it? First thing to try. Out of curiosity where did you plug in the inverter?
