Need to reverse a graphic change.

I have a Lenova with Vista. A few weeks ago I saw a tip(somewhere) on how to make the pc load faster by lowering the level on graphics. It was a very simple thing and I was sure that I would remember it. Now I want to change it back as some photos are black and white instead of color. And of course this 75 year old brain has stopped working. Does anyone know what I can do?

This was such a simple thing I thought for sure that I would remember.

look for a configuration file dated prior to the change.

Check the monitor or video card settings under Control Panel

I'm using an HP laptop with Vista so my settings/menus may be different from yours, but you could try looking in the Display Options or Monitor or graphic card controls in your Control Panel folder.

My computer has a Nvidia card and I have a Nvidia Control Panel which allows me to adjust the video color settings. In an XP computer, I remember the settings are in Display Options.

Reverse change

I would go into the Control Panel and find the Display option. I this section you should find the option to restore defaults. This should get you back to the original settings.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately that laptop died. At least the space bar is dead. If I can get the pc repaired I will work on the information that was sent.
