id been capturing audio, and sometimes video from the net on my ol xp desktop for years, and it never occured to me that i wouldnt be able to do it easily with a brand new machine!
this laptop has an internal(or should that be integrated?) mic, and my desktop didnt, so whereas the desktop would record inside somehow, possibly magically(excuse the computer illiteracy)this wont let me record inside, it picks up outside noise, no matter what i do. shouldnt there be some way to make it record from the sound card, or whatever the correct term may be? the only way i have been able to kinda resolve the issue, when recording radio, is by connecting a 3.5mm-3.5mm jack lead from the speaker out and mic in, and by a painstaking, and infuriating process finding the correct levels to get a passable recording. (incase anyone else has the same issue have real player at 100% on the player, then go to the windows sound controller, put speakers on 25, real on 24,mute other sounds, then go into the mic levels and put it on 5).yes this is a pain in ****, but it gets worse. if i want to capture video, or record tv, i wont be able to watch it at the same time, and will have to spend hours faffing around to get the levels again. also, im not sure about this, but i was going to try capturing from av devices, does that mean that the stoopid mic will record outside sounds then too?surely this cant be right, right? i mean i must have missed something REALLY obvious, as there no way someone would make a machine like this?!or is there?...
thanks in advance for any help, this whole laptop thing was meant to make life easier, and its been one massive nightmare!
