Are laptops reliable?

I would love to have a laptop but it seems like I hear mostly of nightmare situations concerning reliability. I'm considering something like this:

For example some laptops catch a virus and go down. Since this is a common problem, we can't write that laptops are reliable.

However if we change to something like a ChromeBook that issue vanishes and is replaced by issues when there is no network.

So, no, most electronics is not reliable.

Very Low cost?

That might just be the lowest cost Laptop I've ever seen, with a 17 Inch screen.
Look up reviews for the model your interested in, at other websites.
People usually get what they pay for.

Your question is like asking, are cars reliable. That depends on what you buy.

I've purchased 7 laptops since 2000

and all of them have been reliable. I've purchased 2 Sager, 3 Acers, 1HP and a Hitachi. I used them all after warranty expired and never had a repair after warranty expired.
