I need help choosing a laptop?!?! PLEASE HELP

My choices are HP 17.3" Pavilion g7-2217cl Laptop PC with AMD A6-4400M Processor and Windows 8 and Toshiba 17.3" Satellite C875D-S7330 Laptop PC with AMD A4-4300M Accelerated Processor and Windows 8. I mainly just need one for basic internet searching and Skype. My husband will be deploying in a month and i want to have good picture quality for Skyping. And i also have a lot of music and pictures to put on it. I need one that won't go out on me as i can't afford to buy another. And pretty durable cause we have a crazy 10 month old that wants to try and beat it up. Thanks in advance!!!!

But do inspect the models first hand as sometimes you can tell which has the edge. These are 1 year warranty things and if you need longer try to see how long you can get the warranty. The 17 inch is not for portability so it will likely sit on a desk for years. Usually they last a long time.

Neither model will stand up to a child's abuse.

What is the best size for traveling with and still having a big enough screen to see each other. Oh i also don't really want to spend more than 400$.....sorry i'm very computer illiterate.

I am guessing you never traveled with such. My advice is to ask others and please consider a 14 or 15 inch model if this is for travel.

selection at $400. How maybe a tablet for being mobile and more durable. One with a USB port with a flash drive for your photos.
