Asus VivoBook S400CA-CA051H Notebook OR Dell 14z XPS?

Hello,

My name is Panos. I am about to buy a new laptop and I have a dilemma between Asus VivoBook S400CA-CA051H Notebook and Dell 14z XPS. Could you please help me out if you are familiar with both of them?

I read their reviews and saw videos. Dell has i7 while Asus has i5. Dell has Windows 7 while Asus has touch-screen with Windows 8.

What do you think?
Your help would be precious, in that, I am really confused..

Yes, I forgot to clarify about the use. I am not so much into gaming. It's just for office use, internet. Also, I am interested in style, weight and having something very practical.

Price of the laptops

Bob, thank you so much for the quick reply.

About the price I wanted to say that I found both of them in the same price. I know that in the market i7 is more expensive but we found them somewhere both in the same price.

So, considering the fact that the price is the same which one would you go for?

Both are better than average laptops. I'd have to see the screens and feel the keyboard to do the final pick. I type a lot and if the keyboard feels off, I won't buy it. Same for the screen.

Well, Bob, you are right. I am also interested in typing because I am a PhD student, which means I type a lot.

So far, I have seen from close only the Dell laptop and I can say that the keyboard is great with light and the screen the brightest I have ever seen. About the Asus one, I saw a video of a guy using it and he was saying, for example, about the "space" that it's kind of hard and you need to press it tight..

This is all I know happy

Ahh, I have an Asus K53H handy.

Just for grins I checked it out of the office pool and you're right. The Asus keyboard takes a little more pressure than my Dell. Some may like that since it feels quite positive in the tactile feedback but the higher pressure is a personal area and you really need to test drive this.
