Laptop buying advice forum: No Ultrabooks with Discrete GPU?

I don't know what country you are in. Here in the USA there are such models. Here's a nice Zen UX32VD (link to follow) but you seem combative rather than looking for help. I can't guess why you can't find these but my guess is either your country or attitude.

I live in a strange country called the United States.

The Asus Zenbook UX32VD is actually a good choice.

I think I couldn't find it because I was looking for the newer 28nm GT 640M.

But the GT 620M actually doesn't take more power, so this is good.

One thing I can't understand.. everyone says that the Ultrabooks with a 640M are hot as hell.

I've seen no mention of how hot Zenbook is. Maybe I should look more closely.

Do you know any models with a 640M?

Also, how did you find the Zenbook - I'm looking for an enthusiast laptop website that categorizes all current Ultrabooks.

I can search Google myself.

I mean is there a website, like Newegg, like Cnet, like Notebookcheck, that has all of them stored, so I can compare?

Going to Google, I'd find let's say a Samsung model. But Samsung's website leaves a lot to be desired.

The fact that this 620M laptop popped up out of nowhere suggests there may be several more that I am simply not aware of.

So, where do I go?

Sorry that I can't offer much more but the Zenbook and the Acer S3 is a common sight around here.

Frankly given the gaming bent I'd re-think the Utlrabook form. The surface must rise to dissipate the heat from GPU and CPU. We see many of the Ultrabook ideas in even the cheap laptops. For example the family rv515 at about 369 bucks has the zero power sleep and boots in about 3 to 4 seconds.

Gamers however are a finicky lot.
