Best Laptop to Run Powerpoint with Embedded Video

Greetings amazing c|net users! I currently own an HP Pavilion dv6 with an i7 processor, which I bought in 2010 with the idea it would last. It hasn't. It overheats constantly due to a bum fan that evidently is too expensive to have fixed.

I run and create Powerpoint presentations for my business, and embed video, often 5-7 clips, within the presentations. If I were to obtain a stand-alone computer able to (1) be totally reliable and (2) able to play embedded video seamlessly, which laptop should I migrate toward? I build the presentations on my desktop, but I need a completely reliable laptop from which to run them.

Your advice is appreciated!

Any laptop with an i5 processor should do it perfectly. The main thing to decide: do you want Windows 7 or Windows 8?

I have Windows 7 on my desktop. I've only seen Windows 8 at c|net, to be honest. So I'm not sure if I want or need the W8 upgrade.

It doesn't make much sense to buy a Windows 7 laptop and then add a Windows 8 upgrade. You can buy both installed and ready to use.

But any current i5 laptop should be fine. It's only as reliable as Windows so that's a given.
