Hello there... I need your opinion about Asus A45VS - VX026H laptop.

Spec :

-500GB Serial - ATA Hard Drisk
-NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 2GB Graphics

-8x Super Multi DVD Burner
-Bluetooth V4.0
-HD Web Camera
-WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Ethernet Port
-Built-in Speakers And Microphone Altec Lansing® Speakers

1 x VGA
1 x Headphone Jack
1 x Microphone Jack
-2 Year(s) Warranty from Asus

Will this computer running VMWARE smoothly? How about multitasking complex apps like Video Editing and any adobe software? Worth to buy? Thank you guys grin

I'd say yes w/more RAM & 64 bit OS

You really need more than 2 GB RAM, but the good news is that it's very cheap. I bought 8 GB for $42 recently. If you can get Windows 7, I'd prefer that to Windows 8, but whichever one you get, be sure to get the 64 bit version.

I've yet to find any machine run VMWARE without pause. I'm guessing you have not tried it on many machines or you would know that it can eat any machine you throw at it.

NICE LAPTOP. Get more ram later.

I dont understand by that. What do you mean? I assume that you wanna say that this machine cannot run VMWARE smoothly. Am I right?

I've seen folk try dual XEON quad cored, high end i7's and VMWARE runs but what they were trying to do would not run "smoothly." Can you share what you are doing with VMWARE? The folk I saw this issue were trying to run 3D games in the VM.

Running Windows Server

But at 2GB it will swap and slow down. But you didn't detail much in your posts. All I can tell is you'll want more RAM.
