Best small laptop?

Any recommendations for the best value new PC laptop at a budget of 500 UK pounds / 600 euros / 800 US dollars ?

I'd go for 10.1" for weight of 1.3 KG or less, and am a sucker for big brands such as Dell, Samsung and HP (can't imagine buying a Lenovo, Assus or Acer but maybe I should be less of a snob).

The thing is Acer and Asus got in the Ultrabook at the beginning. Another Ultra thats making a name is the Vizio, which is there first dvie into laptops.

the laptops basically start at 11.6" screens and to get a 10.1 you'll need to go to a Netbook which are dominated by Asus and Acer in that category.

10.1" Notebook

just an fyi - currently own a 10.1" Samsung NF 310, bought new at 500 US dollars a couple of years ago. They billed it as a Notebook, not a Netbook.

Felt like a bargain. Have loved it. Surely there's now something higher spec at same size and price?

The Utlrabooks are a little bigger. About 11 to 13 inches for the small ones.
